Our educators are doing a courageous job arming our children with what they need to be safe and sane in this modern world. Digital literacy and emotional literacy initiatives aim to strengthen positive, equal, and respectful relationships among women and men and are included in the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032 (The National Plan). However, there is one glaring omission from this range of new literacy programs. What about porn literacy?.
In my role of Series Executive Producer of the Future Sex Love Art Projekt, I have become aware of the very real and disturbing effects porn is having on our children – on their individual sexuality and their opportunity to build strong and positive intimate relationships.
Porn-Ed.org is a result of my anger about what I have found out and my burning desire to do something to help our children live full and safe lives. I know that stopping porn is impossible. But with action we can create a counterbalance to the negative and harmful messages our children are receiving. Porn-Ed.org exists to help our children become informed consumers of the sexual material they encounter every day.
Join the Porn-Ed community and let’s make porn literacy happen!
